VisitBritain is set to resume responsibility for international business events promotion as part of the recommendations emerging from the government’s Triennial Review of VisitBritian and VisitEngland.

The Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) has proposed forming a Business Visits & Events board, comprising industry representation with government departments and agencies.

Event industry leaders joined national tourism board VisitEngland last week, in supporting English Tourism Week 2015, from 14 to 22 March.

The Associations and Industry Leaders’ Dinner gathered more than 50 event professionals at the Hilton London Olympia, 17 February, as a curtain-raiser to International Confex which opened today (18 February).

The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP) is urging the events industry to respond to a survey into how the government can support specific events to help the industry grow.

The Government is set to establish a new partnership with the UK events industry, the secretary of state for culture, media and sport, revealed on the opening day (3 November) of World Travel Market.
