UBM CONFIDENT FOR GROWTH DESPITE Q1 EVENTS DIP

Events and marketing group UBM is confident its emerging markets strength will deliver 'strong growth' for the full year despite a decline in its UK built environment portfolio in its first-quarter results.

UBM chief executive David Levin has told Exhibition News large scale events and continuing investment in the emerging markets are responsible for an 11.9 per cent rise in its organic events revenue.

Tarsus Group has turned its sights on a new project 'Quickening the Pace' after achieving its target of deriving half its revenues from emerging markets by 2013.

DMG Events has restructured its digital marketing division and appointed a new head of EMEA to oversee its portfolio of events and fuel launch plans across the region.

Tarsus claims plans to derive 50 per cent of its total revenue from emerging markets have been realised ahead of schedule, quickening the pace of its earnings growth.

Launch and expansion activity in high growth sectors and geographies has helped Reed Exhibitions report strong results this year despite sluggish conditions in southern Europe.
