CURRYOKE NIGHT PLANS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHARITY

The Events for Namuwongo team will hold a specially-themed karaoke night in London next month to help raise funds for its events industry charity initiative.

CapCo has been granted outline planning permission that will see the Earls Court exhibition centres demolished to make way for 7,500 new homes.

A team of enthusiastic athletes from Haymarket Exhibitions donned their running shoes and helmets to raise £3,500 for the Events for Namuwongo initiative.

The BVEP has welcomed news that the tourism and Olympics legacy portfolio will be picked up by sports minister Hugh Robertson, the government figure responsible for London 2012.

There are fears for the event industry’s representation at UK government level after Tourism and Heritage minister John Penrose MP lost his job in Prime Minister David Cameron’s latest round of political musical chairs.
