ICHF Events is expecting to set a new record at its 500th show next February after citing a 15 per cent rise in stand bookings.
The Craft, Hobby and Stitch International exhibition will be held at The NEC from 19 to 21 February 2012 and is the organiser’s 500th event since it was established 35 years ago. ICHF show organiser Troy Bennett said confirmed exhibitors include a strong international contingent, particularly from the US. The trade show will also have its first Japanese exhibitor in 2012.
Among the new features are a dedicated needlecraft teaching and demonstrating area called Itch to Stitch led by The Cross Stitch Guild’s Jane Greenoff. Craft, Hobby and Stitch International 2012 will also have more than 100 hours of free seminars and an expanded workshop programme including sessions on social networking, marketing and shop window dressing for retailers.
The show will also have a Catwalk Fashion Show and Bright Sparks Pavilion to showcase new designers.
“Reaching our 500th show is quite a milestone but Craft, Hobby and Stitch International, as always, has its eye on the future,” Bennett said. “This year we are focused on helping retailers improve sales even in this hard economic climate.”
ICHF will launch a Craft and Hobby Show at the new Bluewater events venue in Kent next year.
