Metro claims title of first AV company to achieve BS8901
posted on: 22/3/2011 10:39:00

London-based AV, event and broadcast company, Metro, has claimed to be the first AV company to receive the sustainable event certification award, BS8901. The supplier was independently certified by Sustainable Event Certification.

BS8901 is the standard for sustainable management systems operated by an organisation delivering event-related activities.

“We are very happy to have BS8901 certification as we celebrate our 30th anniversary,” said Metro Broadcast’s Liz Rice. “Sustainability has been one of the core principles of the company and over the years we have delivered highly eco-friendly services to our clients as well as working closely with the local community to ensure a rounded approach to sustainability.”

First launched in November 2007, the standard has been recently revised in light of practical experience and organisations can now seek certification to the BS8901 – 2009 version.
