The return of the Commercial Vehicle Show (CV Show) to The NEC this month is expected to attract 15,000 people, its organiser claims.

CV Show was last held in 2008 then cancelled as a result of the recession. The annual show, which returns to Birmingham from 12-14 April, is run by the CV Show Partnership incorporating the Road Haulage Association, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and IRTE Services, the trading company of the Society of Operations Engineers.

The Partnership said the show got back on track after the successful launch of its sister biennial CommercialVehicle Operators Show in April 2010, which attracted 9,500 visitors. In contrast, the last CV Show in 2008 recorded 28,500 attendees.

This year’s CV Show has secured 250 exhibitors including 14 vehicle manufacturers displaying eco-friendly vehicles for the first time. It is co-located with Workshop 2011 covering the vehicle maintenance and repairs industry.

“This year’s content will be broadly similar to previous years’ proven formula,” a spokesperson for the organiser said. “However, we also have a new and very effective media partnership with Road Transport Media.”

The CV Show has been at The NEC since 1995.
