Event organiser Square Meal will partner with social media site Events Technology Index (ETI) to develop new content for its Venues and Events exhibition this year.

The partnership will see a new Technology Zone created for companiesthat supply software, hardware, gadgets, applications, services and online solutions to the event industry.

"Having given a seminar on technology in the events industry at last year's exhibition, I was struck by the size and vibrancy of the event,” said ETI founder Philip Haines. “When Square Meal suggested a technology zone it seemed to be an obvious addition to the show.”

In addition to Haines’ enthusiasm, attendee feedback from last year’s event suggested senior event executives would like to see more technology products at the event.

Venues and Events 2011 will take place on 21 and 22 September at Old Billingsgate.
