Telford International Centre gets new business development manager

The owner of the International Centre in Telford has brought on a new business development manager.
Lynne Gardner was formerly on the sales team at Ricoh Arena and responsible for selling that venue’s conference, banqueting and exhibition facilities. She also worked for the Heart of England to position the area as an events destination.
Gardner now takes up the post of business development at Southwater Events Group and will be focused on generating more business across the expanding Telford venue. Its latest addition, the 1,000sqm Ludlow Suite, will open in August and accommodate up to 1,500 delegates.
As previously reported in EN, Southwater is embarking on a £250m regeneration programme in conjunction with Telford and Wrekin Council to create a new convention quarter including bars, restaurants and additional hotel space.
“It’s a particularly exciting time for the Group thanks to their expansion and development plans,” Gardner said. “There is real interest in the marketplace in the new Ludlow Suite, which is set to be unveiled in the next few weeks, and the new space is proving to be a real attraction for event organisers all over the UK.”
