The organiser of a series of regional wedding exhibitions across the UK has partnered with Chilford Hall Vineyard and Conference Centre to take over management of the venue’s biannual wedding shows.
Under the new arrangement, Archant Publishing subsidiary Wedding Link will be responsible for sales and operations at the Cambridgeshire Wedding Fayres currently being staged at the venue. The first two will take place on 5 February and 11 November 2012.
“We hope to build on the impressive reputation that Chilford Hall has already developed and to bring fresh ideas to our two new events in 2012,” Archant Wedding business development manager Sam Newby-Ricci said. She anticipated the first jointly-staged event will attract 90 exhibitors, but hoped to build on that figure long-term.
“We wanted to partner as we didn’t want to detract from what has been done at Chilford in the past,” Newby-Ricci told EN. “We’ll run the show first, but we’re anticipating we can expand on the Fayre given our national contacts in the wedding industry.”
WeddingLink and Chilford Hall (pictured) plan to jointly launch a regional marketing campaign over the next 12 months promoting the enhanced event. Chilford Hall GM Glen Mejias claimed its Wedding Fayre was the longest running in the region.
WeddingLink launched into events in 2007 and has a portfolio of wedding shows including regional events in London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Its largest event is the Wedding Show at Wimpole Estate, which attracts 4,000 visitors.
Contractor Freeman UK and project management firm Mayridge will be part of a forum later this month to discuss the growing roll of creativity in the export of UK events.
Manchester’s EventCity has installed a bespoke Changing Places toilet at the venue providing an easier ‘gold standard’ facility for disabled people and carers to use.
