Earls Court has confirmed bookings for exhibitions are being taken through to the end of December 2012.

A spokesperson for the venue told EN bookings are running on a minimum 16-18 month cycle to ensure organisers have enough time to market and prepare future exhibitions. Originally, Earls Court had taken bookings up until its London 2012 Olympic Games commitments next August, but extended this to accept September 2012 bookings during a public consultation on the new masterplan last March.

As part of the consultation process, Earls Court owner Capital and Counties (CapCo) revealed the earliest possible date for demolition of Earls Court 1 was Q3, 2012. The Earls Court spokesperson hoped to confirm the venue’s ability to take bookings for January and February 2013 shortly.

The latest extension comes as CapCo waits to gain approval from authorities on its masterplan application for redevelopment of the 77-acre Earls Court site.

CapCo also announced its half-yearly results today, showing a nine per cent year-on-year drop in pre-tax earnings across the Earls Court and Olympia venues in the six months to 30 June 2011.
