The TNT Sun and Snow Show is being relocated to the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) and will be accompanied by a range of complementary new events.
TNT CEO Kevin Ellis said the sister exhibition to TNT’s flagship TNT Travel Show had outgrown its former Ibis Earls Court Hotel home and highlighted the size, prestige and accessibility of the QEIICC as key reasons for the move. The event takes place on 15 October and will be co-located with TNT’s first Recruitment Fair, which will feature up to 20 recruiters, agencies and employers in the travel industry.
Last year’s TNT Sun and Snow Show reported a 25 per cent increase in visitors to 4,000 and featured 40 exhibitors. Ellissaid both figures are expected to rise significantly in 2011.
“The March event [TNT Travel Show] will continue at Earls Court and it is expected that within the next two years the October show will have enough visitors and exhibitors to move it to an even larger venue - possibly Earls Court or Olympia,” Ellis said.
In the run-up to the Sun and Snow Show, TNT is also planning to host UK versions of its newly acquired Australian B2B travel industry events: The Adventure and Backpacker Industry Conference (ABiC), the Independent Travel Exchange (ITE) networking event and the Golden Backpack Awards. These will run on consecutive days from 12 October.
Contractor Freeman UK and project management firm Mayridge will be part of a forum later this month to discuss the growing roll of creativity in the export of UK events.
Manchester’s EventCity has installed a bespoke Changing Places toilet at the venue providing an easier ‘gold standard’ facility for disabled people and carers to use.
Exhibition organiser ITE Group has said revenues booked for the full year are eight per cent ahead on a like-for-like basis, despite more profitable shows running next year.
