Imago IP Expo partners with US tech conference

Imago Techmedia has formed a loose working partnership with a US event it hopes will attract American tech executives to its IP Expo at Earls Court on 19 and 20 October.

ExecEvent, owned by US outfit Port Matters, will be held side-by-side with IP Expo, although it is not a formal co-location. ExecEvent is an ‘industry insider’ business development event, limited to 150 delegates and designed to maximise growth and profit potential for senior executives and VPs of vendor companies and high-level consultants.

The event is distinct from IP Expo’s own educational programme, which focuses on directors and decision makers helping to shape the cloud computing, storage, wireless, networking, virtualisation and security sectors. Earlier this week Imago announced Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event.

The main exhibition element of IP Expo is dedicated to professionals and end-users in the tech industry, bringing together major players such as Cisco, EMC, HP, Microsoft, VMware, Vodafone, as well as emerging startups from all aspects of information technology. It also includes seminars, workshops, technology labs and panel discussions.

"At IP Expo end-users can see how all the pieces of the technology puzzle fit together," Imago Techmedia commercial director Giles Mallon. "It makes a perfect backdrop for an ‘industry insider’ event for the vendor and channel communities such as the ExecEvent."

IP Expo is expanding its international reach with two overseas launches in the next nine months. IP Expo Africa, a partnership with Montgomery Africa, takes place at Sandton Convention Centre on 15 and 16 November, while IP Expo Sweden, held in partnership with Imago’s European partner EasyFairs Nordic, takes place at Kistamassan Stockholm on 9-10 May.

A spokesman for Imago confirmed that further IP Expo launches on other continents were planned for the next 12 months.
