International Confex is ramping up the education component of its PA Day on the last day of its 2012 show at Excel London in line with International Women’s Day.
Organiser UBM announced the new-look show feature on the UK’s first ever National PA Day (15 September) and estimates there are 600,000 personal and executive assistants in the UK.
PA Day at International Confex will take place on 8 March and is free to attend. The programme includes seminars delivered in association with Castalia Coaching and Training and headed up by company MD and international executive trainer and Castalia MD Susie Barron-Stubley.
“We have run the PA Day before but I think it is fair to say we did not give it the focus that such an important market of event organisers deserved,” Confex portfolio director Jonny Sullens told EN. “PA Day is here to take the stress away from PAs who organise any kind of event. The 2012 PA Day has top-level education from Castalia as well as a programme dedicated to making events work as a PA or EA.”
Barron-Stubley said Castalia works with organisers around the globe to train PAs to become members of the management team and was proud to support International Confex.
Contractor Freeman UK and project management firm Mayridge will be part of a forum later this month to discuss the growing roll of creativity in the export of UK events.
Manchester’s EventCity has installed a bespoke Changing Places toilet at the venue providing an easier ‘gold standard’ facility for disabled people and carers to use.
