Excel London and official tourism organisation London and Partners have branded the new Aspers Casino in Westfield Stratford City a boost for business tourism.

The new casino commences business on 1 December and is located within the recently opened Westfield Stratford retail mall. Aspers will be the UK’s largest casino at 6,000sqm and includes slots, gaming tables, poker room, casual dining, event space, a sports bar and a Sky Bar with views over the new 2012 Olympic Stadium. It is open 24 hours a day.

According to Excel, the new facility provides an additional entertainment option for attendees to exhibitions and conferences held at the venue.

“The opening of Aspers at Westfield is really good for us, as it provides our business visitors with another reason to stay close to our campus, which is at the heart of London’s event district, and enjoy everything the East of London has to offer,” Excel director of conferences and events James Rees said.

London and Partners director of business tourism and major events Tracy Halliwell agreed Aspers will be a major addition to the capital’s business tourism proposition.

“Its opening will further strengthen London’s reputation as the best city for business,” she added.

The NEC in Birmingham is also hoping a proposed casino development by Genting beside its own events venue will also improve the venue’s destination offering.
