Exhibition organiser UBM has launched its media campaign for its meetings and events industry trade show International Confex and unveiled the Newswire service.
Newswire is the new brand for exhibitor media opportunities before and during Confex and the new identity for the onsite press office. It replaces the News Café brand and is tasked with encouraging exhibitors to use the show for pre-event media opportunities as well as onsite launches and announcements.
This year the press office will also have a 6ft Twitterwall available to visitors and exhibitors looking to communicate via Twitter. The wall will be visible to visitors passing by the media office.
UBM said it is keen to get as much activity on the wall as possible including live reaction to the show, on-stand announcements and alerts for show features.
“Many of our exhibitors use Confex as a focal point for their own marketing efforts and we’re keen to give them as many outlets as possible around the show,” said International Confex Portfolio Director Jonny Sullens.
“The Newswire and the Twitterwall represent opportunities for exhibitors to communicate with visitor – and vice versa – pre, during and post-show.”
Newswire is live now on the show’s website where exhibitors can begin uploading press information.
International Confex will take place 6-8 March 2012 at Excel London.
Contractor Freeman UK and project management firm Mayridge will be part of a forum later this month to discuss the growing roll of creativity in the export of UK events.
Manchester’s EventCity has installed a bespoke Changing Places toilet at the venue providing an easier ‘gold standard’ facility for disabled people and carers to use.
