Trafford Park-based venue EventCity has secured 40 shows bookings in 2012 and confirmed events through to 2014.
EventCity opened with its first commercial show on 5 March last year and hosted several consumer and trade shows in 2011. This year’s tenancy bookings list includes shows relocating from other venues including Boutique by Chic (from Ricoh Arena), Brityrex International, Stitch and Creative Crafts, and the Landlord and Letting Show (Manchester Central) and Skills North West (Bolton Arena).
There are several launch events also on the books including the UK Wedding Show in March and Northern Home Show in June.
“EventCity has proved to be a phenomenal success since launching last year as organisers immediately recognised the ‘win win’ situation the venue can deliver to exhibitors, visitors and ultimately business growth,” MD Andy Orr said.
According to EventCity, more than 8,000 visitors attended the Caravan and Motorhome Show on its first day on 19 January, double that in 2011, and 20,000 are expected over the remaining three days. The organiser reported a 30 per cent increase in pre-paid ticket sales and 200 exhibitors.
This year’s show was opened by Dallas actress and Dancing on Ice contestant Charlene Tilton (pictured).
The consumer show is co-located with The Times presents Destinations Holiday and Travel Show from 19 to 22 January.
