Turf Management Exhibition organiser claims 8,000 visitors

Visitor figures rose by nearly 40 per cent for the latest BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) held last week.

The show, on 24-26 January at the Harrogate International Centre, is run by the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA), and had 8,386 visitors over the three days.

This is a 39 per cent increase on last year and 42.5 per cent up on 2010.

“We are delighted to have seen our attendance figures grow substantially this year, both in number of visitors to the exhibition and also to our accompanying ‘Continue to Learn’ education programme,” said BIGGA CEO Jim Croxton.

“The dramatic increase in numbers is a result of two things: a coherent marketing strategy, conducted through trade media and directed at all those to whom the event can bring benefit, and through working closely with our exhibitors toprovide the platform they require.

“We intend to build on the success of this year’s show when we host our 24th BTME on 22-24 January 2013.”

The Scottish Golf Show will move to the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh for its 2012 edition, beginning a plan to alternate between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
