EcoVelocity goes carbon neutral

EcoVelocity claims it will become the first UK car show to be carbon neutral after striking a partnership with Carbon Neutral Investments.

The low-carbon motor show will offset its carbon emissions by supporting a hydro-electric project in India.

EcoVelocity launched in 2011 at Battersea Park. Media 10 acquired a majority stake in the show from organisers IGME in February and will co-located the event with Grand Designs Live at Excel London from 10 to 13 May 2012.

“Having seen the success of EcoVelocity in 2011 first hand, CNI is delighted to form a new partnership for this year’s event,” CNI co-chairman James Brown said.

“EcoVelocity has taken the position as the UK’s major motoring show and, with all the exhibitors boasting impressive low emissions in their automotive products, it’s important that the organisers can demonstrate the same values.”

This year’s show will include a main theatre featuring presentations and discussions from industry experts about low-carbon motoring. Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience a hands-on test drive on a 3.5 mile route in London.
