Diversified Business Communications UK has claimed a 13 per cent increase in attendance at its first Service Desk and IT Support Show at Earls Court’s Brompton Hall.

Diversified acquired the Service Desk and IT Support Show from VCM Events
last May, which has been running the event since 1997. This year’s trade show attracted 4,495 professionals (unaudited) and a 72 per cent exhibitor rebook for next year’s event.

“The reaction to the show this year has been incredible,” event manager Laura Venables said. “Visitors gathered in their thousands and the ‘buzz’ on the show floor was unmistakable.

“The Service Desk and IT Support Show truly is the biggest and best platform for uniting this industry and this year there was a genuine sense of one community coming together to connect, support, share and learnfrom each other.”

This year’s edition from 24 to 25 April featured six keynotes, 40 seminars, two breakfast briefings and 24 hot topic roundtable discussions. The organiser claimed many sessions were 'standing room only' as experts discussed mobility, cloud computing and other emerging technology trends.

Diversified UK MD Carsten Holm said he couldn’t have wished for a better event.

“Integrating established shows and their teams into a new company is always a huge challenge – well it is supposed to be,” he said.

“But on this occasion, the integration of Service Desk and IT Support Show has been virtually seamless and, rather than a challenging, delicate exercise, it’s been fun and a positive development for the future of this essential industry event.”
