Charity cricket tournament Sticky Wicket has secured The Enterprise Hotel as the sponsor of its first Wooden Spoon Prize.

Sticky Wicket takes placed on 21 June at the Hub, Regent’s Park. Confirmed teams include representatives from Aztec, Clarion Events, CloserStill Media, Earls Court and Olympia, Excel London, Fresh Montgomery, Informa, Leith’s, Melville, Ocean Media, The NEC, SO Group and UBM Live.

The Enterprise Hotel will sponsor the first wooden spoon for a team demonstrating more enthusiasm than prowess this year. The hotel’s events and marketing manager Kripen Dhrona said it jumped at the chance to be involved.

“Sticky Wicket is an established and well-attended event within the events industry calendar and the impressive amount of money raise each year is down to the enthusiasm and dedicated of the organising team,” he said.

Last year’s Sticky Wicket raised £30,000 for charity the Lord’s Taverners. Teams consist of celebrity cricketers along with representatives from the events industry.

“Essentially, Sticky Wicket is a way of getting the events industry together, having a great day and raising money for worthy causes and I’m looking forward to seeing The Enterprise Hotel present this new award on the day,” organiser Mervyn Ramsay said.

The organiser still requires a couple of additional teams to make up a record-breaking 16 sides, so those interested should content Ramsay directly: mervyn.ramsay@stickywicket.org
