Essex Air Ambulance has revealed the Essex Motorcycle Show has been rescheduled for July after severe weather conditions forced the postponement of the event last month.
Heavy rain and winds of up to 55mph caused the event to be abandoned on 29 April, and the event will now be on 22 July at Weston Homes Community Stadium in Colchester.
“On behalf of the team at Essex Air Ambulance, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to our supporters who were disappointed to find the Essex Motorcycle Show had been postponed and for any inconvenience caused as a result,” said Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust Events Manager Wendy Marcon.
“We carried out a full consultation with the exhibitors and our partners at Essex Police the day before the event and in light of the adverse weather conditions forecast, respected the concerns shown by our exhibitors of erecting gazebos and displaying brand new motorcycles in such dangerous conditions. Our decision was also determined by ensuring the safety of motorcyclists travelling to the event.”
The show will have trade stands by major manufacturers including TK Cope Motorcycles, Cannon BMW, Jim Aim Motorcycles, Victory Motorcycles and a Japanese bike display, plus training schools CADAM, Total Advanced Training and EAMG.
Motorcyclists will also have the opportunity to take part in an assessed ride out on one of the latest demo bikes and sign up to the Bike Safe Workshops.
The show will also see the return of the Safe n Sexy Show showcasing the latest protective clothing available.
