A former Tarsus Group staffer has launched a new online resource providing advice on exhibition and event-oriented technologies and tools.
Events Guru features practical information and guidance on how technologies can be used to manage and optimise event experiences including event planning and management software, registration packages and apps, onsite interactivity and participation tools, engagement solutions and technical innovations for features and content.
Founder Heidi Williams, who was previously a business development director at Tarsus Group, said the new site will also feature a series of advice-led webinars, the first of which will take place on 15 May with US-based tech expert Corbin Ball. Event professionals can register on the site for free.
“There has been a real explosion of technologies in the events and live marketing space in the last couple of years and as an event organiser myself, I have found it difficult to source or select suppliers or find information about the options available,” she said.
“Events Guru was born out of that frustration, which I know is shared by many of my colleagues.”
Williams plans to include regular blogs and features along with buying guides covering the gamut of event and live marketing technologies. Authors will include event industry commentators Mike Fletcher and Peter Kerwood.
The Scottish Festivals and Events Association (SEFA), a new trade organisation, representing the interests of the nation's events and festivals industry, launched officially on 16 May.
