UBM safety 2012

UBM Live has reported significant growth across two of its shows held at The NEC last month.

The Facilities Show 2012 reported 27.7 per cent growth in pure visitors, while the co-located Safety and Health Expo 2012 saw a rise of 9.7 per cent. The shows were co-located with IFSEC International.

This is the first year that each trade exhibition will be ABC audited individually. In previous years, both occupied the same hall so a combined audit was implemented. The Facilities Show is claiming 13,464 attendees including visitors who crossed over from IFSEC International and Safety and Health Expo, along with 272 exhibitors, a rise of 24 per cent.

“We couldn’t do it without the support of our partners and exhibitors and the commitment from our visitors,” said Facilities Show event manager Fergus Bird.

“We’re proud to be part of facility management's move towards improved status, power and standing as a managerial profession.”

The Safety and Health Expo had 7,951 pure visitors, and 14,663 attendees including all crossover, and for the first time introduced the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health Networking Zone, a series of seminars hosted by key professionals from six of the IOSH groups. These included the Food and Drink Group, the Retail and Distribution Group, the Construction Group and the new Sports Ground and Events Group.

“The 59 per cent rebook levels onsite, and a 9.7 per cent increase in visitors is testament to the fact that Safety and Health Expo is a show which the industry continues to embrace,” said UBM group director Adrian Newton.

“It is the only major exhibition for the health and safety community, offering a truly unique range and scale of content which delivers an unmatched level of visitors. ”

UBM recently appointed new chairman Dame Helen Alexander
following the retirement of John Botts.
