The organiser of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) exhibition and conference is claiming its move to Manchester has triggered a 45 per cent exhibitor rise.
After 25 years in its former home, organiser Ocean Media announced CIH would switch Harrogate for Manchester Central this year in an attempt to breathe new life into the event. It now claims to have sold out of space with more than 320 exhibitors confirmed.
The organiser also reported a 20 per cent increase in pre-registered visitors year-on-year, alongside strong conference bookings. This year’s CIH exhibition will also be co-located with Procurement for Housing Live for the first time. The two events run from 12 to 14 June.
Highlights on the content programme include housing minister Grant Shapps, along with 100 speakers from the government and housing sectors across 40 sessions.
This year’s CIH will also feature a new one-on-one consultation area called The Green Room, allowing visitors to meet with sustainability experts. Last year’s CIH event attracted 4,253 visitors (ABC audited).
UBM has moved a step closer towards the acquisition of US organiser Advanstar.
The American firm, valued at US$972 million (£599 million) specialises in fashion, licensing, life sciences and powersports events.
