UK Pool and Spa Expo to launch at The NEC

A new show focused on the UK pool and spa sector will launch at The NEC next January.

The UK Pool and Spa Expo has been created by organiser New Events and will showcase manufacturers of swimming pool, spas, water heating/cooling equipment, filters, covers, lighting and safety equipment.

The show will open on 24-25 January 2013 for trade, followed by a mixed consumer and trade day on 26 January. Trade visitors will be distinguished by unique registration badges.

The organiser claimed the majority of exhibitor spaces have already been filled and expects to attract 4,000 visitors.

New Events event director Claire Saunders said the company had built up relationships across the UK pool and spa industry as a result of its sister company SCS Exhibitions, which helps the UKTI showcase these companies via events worldwide. New events initially planned to partner with GL Events to run a dedicated pool and spa trade show, but opted to part company in order to offer a consumer aspect to the show.

“The UK pool and spa sector is the fourth largest in Europe,” Saunders said. “Normally we are dedicated to trade only, but as we spoke to more customers it became apparent that what the market wanted was a strong trade show covering the whole industry as well as the opportunity to lift their profile with the end consumer. We therefore decided to add a third consumer day to give them that opportunity.”

Saunders said it had enjoyed a longstanding relationship with The NEC from previous shows and said the team had been both professional and supportive in response to its latest event.

“The fact that the show will debut at The NEC, opening to both trade and consumer visitors, demonstrates our ability to host events that appeal to multiple audiences, under the same roof, and showcases our appeal as the venue of choice for smaller, launch events as well as larger, established shows,” The NEC business development director Chris Hartley added.

New Events also organises National Electronics Week UK, which was one of eight manufacturingshows co-located at The NEC in April. The others included DFA’s Drives and Controls, MTA’s MACH and Global Media’s Electrex.
