Showmans Show enters the green zone
posted on: 15/8/2012 10:40:08
Showmans Show

This year’s Showman’s Show will feature a new sustainability area as part of efforts to better showcase products and solutions in that sector.

The outdoor events industry trade show returns to the Newbury Showground in Berkshire on 17 and 18 October. The new Green Innovations Zone is being organised by The Green Festival Alliance, a group of promoters and suppliers committed to acting on climate change formed in January.

The area will bring together a range of sustainable suppliers from across the country to promote their products and services including waste management, power generation, consumables, structures, water provision and materials.

“If there was ever a time when climate, weather and sustainability were on the agenda in the events industry, it’s now,” Green Festival Alliance spokesperson Chris Johnson said. “All the suppliers in this new zone deliver professional solutions with massively reduced environmental impacts. This is the way the industry needs to go to keep up with the challenge we all face.”

A number of new exhibitors are also booked to attend  this year including Suitehuts, alongside familiar faces such as Sunbaba, which is celebrating its 25th year in business. The Inch Perfect Trials Display team will also perform motorbike stunts at the show for the first time.

The event’s organiser Lance Show and Publications said this year’s Showman’s Show will close a remarkable season for outdoor events in the UK stretching from the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics.

The company said it hopes to capitalise on the energy and enthusiasm generated as a result and help event industry suppliers plan fornext year’s challenges.
