The London Garments Expo (LGE) has teamed up with Fashion Capital’s event Profile for its latest show in London.
Originally a government-funded project supported by the London Development Agency with the London Fashion Forum Profile back in 2001, Profile showcases ladieswear and accessory designers. It is pitched as a platform between Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.
“The partnership between Profile and the London Garments Expo will build on the next step of our vision, introducingBritish designers to international manufacturers and securing that global trade link,” said Ali Hasan, CEO of Perfect Management London, which organises LGE.
The trade exhibition runs until 31 August.
“This year sees a unique collaboration with the London Garments Expo - at last a true union for the good of fashion,” said Jennifer Holloway, director of Fashion Enter, which oversees Profile. “Profile is delighted with this new partnership for 2012.”
Perfect Management said the relocation was precipitated by Earls Court and Olympia’s 2012 London Olympic Games commitments but highlighted BDC’s location in the trendy, design-led central Islington area as a major plus.
UBM Live is working with London & Partners to create London Technology Week – an annual event to highlight the city’s role as a major technology centre.
London-based event industry exhibition, Square Meal's Venues & Events Live, is to extend the open hours of the first day of its show in response, the organiser says, to calls from the industry.
