The Harrogate Flooring Show has celebrated its 50th anniversary edition by reporting a healthy mix of exhibitors and visitors against tough trading conditions.
The trade fair attracted 127 exhibiting companies from 12 countries covering 3,000sqm net floor space across four halls. Total attendance was just over 3,000 including 2,400 trade visitors from 25 countries. The event took place from 2 to 4 September at the Harrogate International Centre.
According to event director Wendy Adams, attendance was healthy given the pressures facing the flooring sector this year.
“It was gratifying to see the support for the show from all sectors of the industry and we are thankful for the loyalty shown by the core group of major exhibitors who have helped to ensure a successful event,” she said.
This year’s Flooring Show featured enhanced seminar and conference content with more than 30 individual sessions and presentations. It also hosted the first Commercial Flooring Conference.
Marketing director Paul Stott confirmed its return to Harrogate in September 2013 and claimed a high level of rebookings.
“We introduced several new elements to the event in 2012 and will be continuing to adopt new initiatives to ensure that next year’s show is bigger and better and is organised to top international standards to reflect well on the highly important industry it serves,” he said.
