The Events for Namuwongo team will hold a specially-themed karaoke night in London next month to help raise funds for its events industry charity initiative.
The ‘Curryoke’ night will be held at the Enterprise Hotel by Earls Court on 18 October and will see teams of four competing for the title of ‘Curryoke Champions of 2012’. Groups will be rated on their vocal skills, charisma and ability to please the crowd.
Tickets include a meal and drink and cost £49 each, or £149 for a team pass.

Events for Namuwongo aims to raise £400,000 during 2012/2013 to deliver must-needed funds for improving living conditions in Namuwongo, a slum community in Uganda. Its first steps include providing free clean water, sanitation, toilets and transforming health care.
The charity initiative also plans to create a new school and donate funds to educate 500 children annually, as well as deliver adult education services. Its first charity dinner at The Brewery raised £83,000 on 22 May.
“Events for Namuwongo is an excellent cause and it only feels right as a supplier to the industry, that the Enterprise Hotel makes its mark in the form of an event,” the hotel’s marketing manager Kripen Dhrona added.
