EventCity in Manchester will fill up with model boats, planes, cars, railways and even rockets for an upcoming exhibition.

The Northern Modelling Exhibition on 2-3 March, features more than 100 exhibitors, including around 40 modelling clubs and associations, across 28,000sqm.

Organiser Meridienne Exhibitions anticipates crowds of up to 9,000 for the show.

The first show ran in March last year and saw 7,500 visitors travelling to EventCity. Its sister event, the London Modelling Exhibition at Alexandra Palace attracts 15,000 visitors.

“The Northern Modelling Exhibition had an undeniably successful debut at EventCity and we’re thrilled to welcome it back for the second year running,” said EventCity MD Andy Orr. “It’s an incredibly popular show, now catering for the modelling enthusiasts of the North, and is fast becoming synonymous with its London counterpart.”

The show will feature an appearance at the show from the RC Tank Regiment Northern Battalion with a custom-built battlefield setting.

“The North is home to hundreds of keen modellers and hobbyists from all walks of life, and we are very excited to be able to bring them together under one roof for the 2013 Northern Modelling Exhibition,” said Avril Spence, exhibition manager at Meridienne Exhibitions. “This year’s event was a huge success and we are delighted to be able to bring it back to Manchester. We look forward to welcoming enthusiasts of all ages to the event in March next year.”

EventCity hosts the Manchester Pet Show, debuting at the venue in September.
