Excel London welcomes 20 millionth visitor
posted on: 18/6/2014 12:17:36
ExCeL London revised

London Tech Week and The Protection and Management Series brought the 20 millionth visitor to Excel London today (18 June), writes Emma Hudson.

The lucky visitor – Adrian Jones, a partner at Trowers & Hamlins – was handed a special prize package, with gifts from Europcar, Leith’s at Excel London, Grange Hotels, The Society of London Theatre and City Social, by Excel London CEO David Pegler.

Pegler emphasised Excel’s achievement, saying that reaching 20 million visitors underpinned the venue’s “ambition to be the home of world-leading events.”

“Since opening in 2000,” he said, “we have hosted over 4,500 events and welcomed 20 million people from every corner of the globe. In 2013, we celebrated our most successful year to date, which resulted in an economic impact of £2.9 billion for London and supported 31,000 jobs nationally.

“We look forward to the continued success of our customers’ events and anticipate that we will welcome our 30 millionth visitor within the next three years.”

It’s been an exciting June so far for Excel London. The venue recently welcomed the Sunborn London Superyacht Hotel – London’s first ever luxury superyacht hotel.
