Edinburgh Conference Centre at Heriot-Watt University is moving into the city’s festival fast lane by launching a Knowledge Festival as part of the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.
The new event will feature history professor, Tom Devine, and Mercedes Formula One chief engineer for Mercedes, Jock Clear.
The ECC at Heriot-Watt celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and a new website, www.edinburgh-conference.com, also carries information about the main Festival.
ECC commercial operations manager, Lynne Geary, believes the Knowledge Festival will be a popular addition to the Edinburgh Fringe circuit. “We hope to introduce knowledge in a less academic, informal and topical way,” says Geary. “We also hope that the festival will raise awareness of the conference centre as the largest not-for-profit venue of its kind in Scotland.”
The Great Taste Festival of Food and Drink has announced it is launching two new festivals at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, on 21-22 September and Donington Park, Derbyshire, on 7-8 December.
UBM Live is working with London & Partners to create London Technology Week – an annual event to highlight the city’s role as a major technology centre.
