Emap has announced the purchase of The Energy Event (EE), and its related magazines, from Western Business Media (WBM).
As of next year, EE will run alongside Emap’s Recycling and Waste Management exhibition (RWM) at the Birmingham NEC. The publisher and event organiser maintains that both shows will be marketed as separate entities.
"RWM and EE are a natural fit for co-location. There is a growing appetite for waste-to-energy conversion as way of dealing with two major issues at once. By bringing the waste and sustainable energy sectors together in this way, we can help satisfy that appetite," says RWM’s event director, Gerry Sherwood.
WBM’s Eamonn Brennon will remain involved with EE as a consultant.
"We have admired this event from afar after visiting several times, as it is a quality, industry-led event with great content and an essential diary date for anyone in the sector," says Emap MD, Alison Jackson. "Our marketing and operational resource will ensure the event becomes even more important for decision makers in the energy sector as it develops in conjunction with market needs going forward."
