Ocean Events is launching a new bank holiday weekend exhibition for bikers and lovers of custom motorcycles.
The California Dreamin’ Expo is a brand new event showcasing and promoting the international custom motorcycle industry and lifestyle. The event will be held across 28–29 May 2011 at the Bournemouth International Centre.
According to Ocean Events, it represents a new concept approach to exhibition, bringing riders and enthusiasts of all aspects of the custom motorcycle lifestyle together with custom motorcycle builders, retailers, dealers and manufacturers manning exhibition stands as part of a ‘riders meet’ gathering. The organiser hopes bank holiday timing will ensure riders meet and travel to Bournemouth together, taking advantage of the social agenda it is trying to push.
Sponsors director, Mark Battistini, said the event “will be a spectacular show opportunity for custom, classic and performance bike enthusiasts from all over Europe. It will also be a great opportunity for dealers and customisers to meet and do business with suppliers and manufacturers.”
As the event will be a World Championship of Custom Bike Building affiliate event, custom bike builders will also have an opportunity to compete for a place at the Official World Championship, going head-to-head with the year’s greatest custom bike builds for the USA.
In addition, one of the event’s main features will be a catwalk show, featuring models displaying the latest trends in biker clothing and must-have helmets and accessories. There will also be workshops and demonstrations as well as a keynote speech delivered by a well-known personality from the custom bike industry.
Exhibition organiser ITE Group has said revenues booked for the full year are eight per cent ahead on a like-for-like basis, despite more profitable shows running next year.
The Scottish Festivals and Events Association (SEFA), a new trade organisation, representing the interests of the nation's events and festivals industry, launched officially on 16 May.
