The Childcare Expo will be held a week earlier and on different days in 2011 in order to enable more target visitors to come along to the event.
The expo is organised by Broadway Events and was held for the first time from 28-29 September this year at Ricoh Arena in Coventry. The event attracted 1,135 visitors (unaudited) and 92 exhibitors.
The 2011 event will be held from 16-17 September at Ricoh Arena, moving from Tuesday/Wednesday to Friday/Saturday. Event director, Emma Barrett, said the date change would give smaller nursery owners and childminders increased opportunity to attend. Broadway Events has also appointed PR agency, Shooting Star, to drive more awareness of the show in its target sector.
“Following on from a very successful launch event in 2010, we wanted to create a dynamic and informative publicity campaign for 2011,” Barrett said. “The reasons I chose to work with Shooting Star PR as its knowledge and contacts in the early years sector and the fact that the company appeared to offer good value for money.”
Key elements of the 2010 launch event were seminars as well as the sensory Place to Play feature area, designed as a playroom of ideas and good practice examples for early years professionals. Barrett said new features for 2011 would include hands-on workshops and a newly-themed Place to Play area.
Broadway Events has confirmed Morton Michel Insurance will once again be its main sponsor, while Teach Nursery Magazine has come on as media partner.
